COVENANT MEMBERSHIP-BY LAWS

General: This is a sovereign and democratic Baptist Church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The membership retains unto itself exclusive right of government in all phases of the spiritual and temporal life of this church.

Determination of Membership: The membership reserves the exclusive right to determine who shall be covenant members of this
church and the conditions of such membership. This determination shall be without bias as to race or gender.

Candidates - Candidates are accepted for presentation in any of the following ways:

By Profession of Faith and Baptism according to the policies of this church. Candidates who cannot be baptized due to physical reasons will be received by testimony of their faith in Christ and baptism will be waived. Candidates desiring membership who are home-bound for physical reasons will have all rights, privileges and responsibilities of an active member except the right to hold church office.

By a statement of prior conversion experience and scriptural baptism.

New Member Orientation - All candidates for membership in Hills of Grace Fellowship must attend a New Member’s Orientation class
prior to being accepted as a member of the Church.
These classes will be scheduled and conducted by the Pastor, or ministerial staff member.

Active Covenant Membership - A Covenant member is one who supports the Church with his/her prayers, presence, and regular financial support. Membership will be an ongoing, annual process;
the Church will hold an annual Covenant Service to facilitate the signing of a new covenant.
